All: We will experience community as we support and encourage one another.
One: Come from the predictability of everyday life, to experience a challenge.
All: We will experience a challenge as we respond to the ministry of Jesus Christ.
One: Come from the uncertainty of everyday life, to experience security.
All: We will experience security as we put our trust in God, who loves us beyond limits.
Prayer of Approach (in unison)
Wonderful is your blessing of family, O God. We rejoice in the joy we find among those we love. We rejoice in the achievement, friendship, and creativity of our day. We rejoice that there is still so much for us to find out and put into practice. We rejoice that, with the Word, You inspire us and send us out to empower the oppressed and to listen to the down- hearted. Wonderful love is Your mark, O God. We thank You for its fullest expression in Jesus Christ. Amen.
*Hymn: “Jesus Loves Me” vu 365
Children's Time
The children and their teachers may now go to form our Junior Church.
Prayer of Confession (in unison)
We gather to welcome the beginning of Jesus' ministry. Like the crowds on Jordan's bank, we come humbly, for we have much to confess. We gather expectantly, for we are ready to hear the prophetic Word. God calls us to listen carefully, plan enthusiastically, and to respond practically. We gather to make the new start that baptism symbolizes. With that Jordan crowd, we confess our fear of change, but affirm our willingness to turn our lifestyle around. We gather to witness the awesome power of the Holy Spirit. We will be inspired to renew our relationships and to work in community to enliven our neighborhood.

Reach out to others so all the world can see. God will be there watching from above. Go now in peace, in faith, and in love.
