Opening Music
*Gathering Song: “You'll Never Walk Alone” (printed)
When you walk through a storm,
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark,
At the end of the storm is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark.
Walk on through the wind,
Walk on through the rain,
Tho' your dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart,
And you'll never walk alone,
You'll never walk alone!
Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart,
And you'll never walk alone,
You'll never walk alone! (Words by Oscar Hammerstein Music by Richard Rodger)

*Call to Worship: Rose Hatt
Leader: O God, who gives us life,
People: who clothes us in flesh,
Leader: who breathes Spirit into us,
People: we come to you,
Leader: Asking that we may walk in the word
People: that we may grow in the light of your love. Amen.
Opening Prayer
*Song: “O Master, Let me Walk with thee” (#442) HFG
Minute for Mission Betty Kimball
Prayer of Approach (unison)
The phrase” let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus” is the key. The idea is clear. There are lots of distractions as we run. Bypaths beckon us; false goals attract us; competition discourages us; opposition causes us to falter. Jesus, however, a tried and trusted leader who blazed the trail of faith by His own obedience and perseverance and who finished the course in a burst of glory is both our guide and our goal. We look away from everything else to Him, if we want to run well. Amen.

The Scriptures: Isaiah 40: 28b-31 Hebrews 12: 1-3
Psalm 119: 25-32 (responsive)
Leader: I lie in the dust; revive me by your word. People: I told you my plans, and you answered. Now teach me your decrees. Leader: Help me understand the meaning of your commandments, and I will meditate on your wonderful deeds. People: I weep with sorrow; encourage me by your word. Leader: Keep me from lying to myself; give me the privilege of knowing your instructions. People: I have chosen to be faithful; I have determined to live by your regulations. Leader: I cling to your laws. Lord, don't let me be put to shame! People: I will pursue your commands, for you expand my understanding.

*Song: “The Last Mile Of The Way” (printed)
If I walk in the pathway of duty If I work till the close of the day I shall see the great King in His beauty When I've gone the last mile of the way
Chorus
When I've gone the last mile of the way I will rest at the close of the day And I know there are joys that await me When I've gone the last mile of the way
If for Christ I proclaim the glad story If I seek for His sheep gone astray I am sure He will show me His glory When I've gone the last mile of the way
Here the dearest of ties we must sever Tears of sorrow are seen ev'ry day But no sickness no sighing for ever When I've gone the last mile of the way
And if here I have earnestly striven And have tried all His will to obey 'Twill enhance all the rapture of Heaven When I've gone the last mile of the way
